ROCHESTER, Minn. — This past summer was both warmer and wetter than usual in Rochester, Minn., according to data collected from the Rochester International Airport by the National Weather Service in La Crosse. The meteorological summer, spanning June 1 through August 31, shows some interesting changes from the norm.

The average temperature hit 70°, which is 1.3° above the typical 68.7°. June was a bit of a hot month, with an average temperature of 69.7°, 2.2°F higher than normal. July and August followed with averages of 72.0° and 68.3°, respectively, showing slight increases from the usual.

This summer's peak temperature was 90° on three different days in June, while the lowest dipped to 48°F on August 25. On 60 days, the temperatures exceeded the norm.
