DECORAH, Iowa – A Georgia man has been found guilty of killing a teenage girl in northeast Iowa.

The Winneshiek County Jury found James David Bachmurski, 66 of Swainsboro, GA, guilty of second-degree murder in the March 2017 death of Jade Marie Colvin, 15.

Colvin’s mother brought her from Arizona to live on Bachmurski's farm in Winneshiek County but the girl quick quickly vanished.

In 2022, U.S. Marshals notified the Winneshiek County Sheriff's office about Colvin's case after they learned her last whereabouts may have been in Decorah.
