WASHINGTON — During a press event at the White House about relocating Space Command headquarters to Alabama on Tuesday, President Donald Trump said that “just over the last few minutes” the U.S. military “literally shot out a boat, a drug-carrying boat” that he claimed originated from Venezuela.

The president offered few details, adding that more would be made public after the conclusion of the Oval Office event alongside Alabama lawmakers, Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and senior military officials.
