Many were just teenagers when they enlisted to serve their country, an impassioned 97-year-old David Yoho told the crowd gathered at the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

He was joined at Tuesday’s event by about a dozen other WWII veterans, and each was recognized by name and descriptions of their service; Yoho noted he was the “baby” of the group at the age of 97
