TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Tyler police are searching for a suspect after an active shooter alarm was activated at UT Health Olympic Plaza in Tyler.

The alert began after an argument between two people. Witnesses say one of whom had a gun, according to Tyler Police Department spokesperson Andy Erbaugh.

“This this seems like a contained incident,” Erbaugh said.

Erbaugh said no shots were fired and that they “think there was a hasty retreat by the suspect after the alarm sounded.”

People began to evacuate the hospital floor by floor and no injuries were reported. Every floor has since been cleared, Erbaugh said.

The hospital is no longer on lockdown as of just before 1:20 p.m., according to UT Health spokesperson Allison Pollan.

The suspect is described to be a Black man wearing green scrub
