EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (WSIL) -- The U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois filed a federal complaint against Illinois over its financial support policies for illegal aliens.

U.S. Attorney Steven D. Weinhoeft criticized Illinois for providing benefits like in-state tuition and scholarships to illegal aliens.

“Illinois has an apparent desire to win a ‘race to the bottom’ as the country’s leading sanctuary state.
