Targeting players early and establishing relationships is still a major part of recruiting, even with the money pouring in.

Michigan State needs to finish out its 2026 recruiting class but, like every other program, is looking to the future.

Lorenzo McMullen Jr., a 2028 five-star wide receiver from Taft High School in Cincinnati, announced via social media he will be in East Lansing on Saturday (7:30 p.m., NBC) when the Spartans host Boston College. He already has double-digit offers, including from Wisconsin, Indiana and Maryland.

Although McMullen hasn’t reported an offer from Michigan State yet, he’s still a sophomore. He is also planning on being at Illinois for a Sept. 13 game against Western Michigan.
