AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Augusta Commission members on Tuesday affirmed their decision to adopt full rollback millage rates.
That’s a rate that raises the same amount of taxes as the year before.
The motion was approved 10-1 two weeks ago with interim Commissioner Tanya Barnhill-Turnley voting no .
“We are doing what we can within this government to do what we can to help people with their tax bills,” Commissioner Brandon Garrett said at the time.
“We have no control in what the school board decides,” he added, referring to the Richmond County Board of Education’s announcement that it intended to raise its millage rate.
