During its late August meeting, Whitecourt town council voted to award a $574,455 contract for the project to the company Unsurpassable Construction. Article content

“Unsurpassable Construction Ltd. is familiar with and capable of this type of work,” Tim Edwards of MPA Engineering wrote in a letter to the town.
According to council’s agenda package, the town began maintaining the part of Blue Ridge Road within Whitecourt’s boundaries in 2020.
The culvert in question was built in 1966 and is approximately five kilometres east of the town’s Hilltop Industrial Area.
