Former U.S. attorney Jessica Aber died of natural causes earlier this year, northern Virginia medical examiners confirmed on Sept. 2.
Officials said the 43-year-old woman's cause of death was "sudden unexpected death in epilepsy," Jennifer Starkey, district medicolegal administrator for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Northern District of Virginia, told USA TODAY in an email.
The former federal prosecutor was dealing with a " longstanding medical issue ," multiple outlets, including Fox News and CBS News , reported at the time of her death, citing a friend of the family.
Aber was found in her home by Alexandria Police the morning of March 22, after they received a call for an unresponsive woman.
