ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A high school in Jackson County was evacuated over a bomb threat Tuesday.
The threat was made against East Jackson High School at 1435 Hoods Mill Road in Commerce, according to school officials.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office gave the all-clear around 4:10 p.m. after using K-9 teams to search the campus for bombs.
In a message to parents, Principal Matt Stratemeyer said students and staff were evacuated after administrators learned of “a written bomb threat made toward the safety of our school building.”
Stratemeyer said all after-school activities have been canceled.
The school and the sheriff’s office are investigating the threat.
