A Washoe County deputy district attorney has been arrested on a charge of open and gross lewdness.
Reno police arrested Kenneth Ching on Saturday, Aug. 30, records show. He was released on his own recognizance at a bail hearing.
The Washoe County DA's Office said Ching has been placed on administrative leave.
"We are aware of the matter and take it very seriously," Washoe County DA spokesperson Kendall Holcomb said. "Out of respect for the process, we have no further comment at this time.”
The Washoe DA's Office recused itself and the Carson City District Attorney's Office will take over the case for prosecution.
Ching's arraignment is set for Sept. 9.
