Nearly 1,500 people were treated at Burning Man's makeshift hospital during the annual event in the Black Rock Desert, according to the event's medical provider.

Royal Ambulance reported that 1,450 patients were seen at the on-site facility, known as Rampart. Fifty-six were transported to hospitals by ground or air ambulance. Among them was a baby girl born on the playa Aug. 27 , surprising even her mother, who did not know she was pregnant.

The majority of those treated on site were seen for UTIs, lacerations and musculoskeletal injuries, according to Royal Ambulance Chief Administrative Officer JohnRey Hassan. Hassan said that three people were resuscitated after having sudden cardiac arrest.
