Longtime sports reporter and Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Famer Bryan Samudio died Tuesday, according to a report from the University of Nevada School of Journalism.
No cause of death was given.
Samudio was a graduate of UNR's Reynolds School of Journalism. He joined KRNV News 4 in 2005 after serving as Sports Director at KTNV in Las Vegas. Before that, he spent 10 years as a sports anchor at KOLO 8 in Reno.
Samudio retired from the TV sports business after 26 years covering sports in the state of Nevada. He joined the Washoe County Sheriff's office in 2022 as a public information officer.
In 2017, Samudio was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame as part of a 36-person class. The following year, Samudio was one of the founders of Nevada Sports Net, the area's f
