STONECREST, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A man wanted in connection with an apartment fire that claimed a woman’s life is in custody, police said on Tuesday.

Fire crews responded to the 5000 block of Fairington Road in Stonecrest around 1 a.m. on Labor Day. They said they believe the fire was set intentionally.

Shawn Fails, 44, was arrested Monday by officers in Chambers County during a traffic stop in Lanett, Alabama. Police said he is the victim’s ex-boyfriend.

On Tuesday, DeKalb police identified the victim as 48-year-old Stephanie Wiley.
