SPOKANE, Wash. -- One person was arrested for domestic violence following a standoff in West Spokane on Tuesday morning.

According to the Spokane Police Department, calls came in around 10:15 a.m. about an assault at an apartment complex on West Elliott Drive. The caller said the female victim left to get medical treatment.

SPD said a no-contact order was in place at the time of the assault that was meant to prevent the suspect, 31-year-old Sergio Orduno-Gallegos, from contacting the victim.

When officers arrived at the apartments, Gallegos was inside.

According to SPD, they believed there could be two small children inside the apartment.

Officers attempted to contact Gallegos but were not successful.
