FERRY COUNTY, Wash. -- Firefighters are battling a growing wildfire on the Colville Reservation burning about 30 miles south of Inchelium.

The Rattlesnake Fire is burning approximately 4,200 acres, or about 6.5 square miles, along the Columbia River.

Firefighters say the hot, dry conditions are contributing to increased fire growth and that's expected to continue Wednesday.

People living along the lower Silver Creek Road to Roosevelt Lake should be ready to leave at a moment's notice (Level 2). People are asked to avoid using 3-Mile Road and 6-Mile Road.

The cause is under investigation.
