CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. -- The FBI has determined the bones found during the manhunt for Travis Decker were not human.
The FBI and law enforcement partners conducted a grid search operation in the Rock Island Campground near Leavenworth August 25 and 26. During that operation, bones were found.
The investigation was part of the manhunt for Travis Decker, the Wentachee father accused of murdering his three young daughters.
The FBI says Central Washington University reviewed the bones and determined they were not human remain.
The FBI says in the two days, search teams cleared 250 acres on foot and gained better mapping and knowledge of the area.
Decker is suspected of killing Paityn Decker, 9; Evelyn Decker, 8; and Olivia Decker, 5 on June 2.
