HOOPESTON, Ill. (WCIA) -- About three months after Teasdale Latin Foods employees went on strike in Hoopeston, the company said an agreement has been reached.

Teasdale employees went on strike June 1. Over the course of the strike, union workers that WCIA spoke with said they were concerned about the company raising their hours caps from from 56 to 60 (which could lead to five twelve hour shifts a week) and the company hiring sub-contractors for their work. Workers also said they wanted to see new positions offered to workers already at Teasdale first.

Teasdale said an agreement was reached with BCTGM Local 1, the Grain Millers Union, on Aug. 29. The four-year agreement includes an immediate 5% increase in wages, a 17% increase over the four years and 40 hours of paid time off each year.
