A controversial development proposal in Cincinnati’s Hyde Park neighborhood has been put on hold after months of vocal opposition from residents.
The Cincinnati City Council voted unanimously in committee Tuesday to repeal a previously approved zoning change that would have allowed for a large-scale development near Hyde Park Square. Advertisement
The emergency ordinance reverses the council's April vote, which passed 7-2.
This would have given clearance for a multi-story project including apartments, a hotel, and underground parking along the Erie Avenue corridor.
"We were against the original proposals," said Tom Kereiakes, who has lived in Hyde Park with his wife Annette for more than 20 years.
