EVADALE, Texas — A year after voters approved a $24 million bond for school improvements, construction is moving quickly across Evadale campuses, with the junior high school set to open its new building this November.

“In just two months, children at Evadale Junior High will walk into a brand new, safer school,” Evadale ISD Superintendent Kevin Shipley said. “Over on the right, these guys over here make a lot of noise, finishing up the junior high reconstruction, repurposing it and trying to get it ready.”

The bond project includes upgrades to the district’s elementary, middle and high school campuses. While construction has caused disruption, Shipley said teachers and students are eager for the results.
