Investigators have released the names of the two people who were in a small plane when it crashed Sunday afternoon in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
One, named Christopher Marx, 55, died at the scene, the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday. The other, Alex Dulude, 40, remains in critical condition at University of Utah Hospital; he was flown there by medical helicopter on Sunday.
No other information about either of the men was immediately released Tuesday.
The plane crashed in the area of Albion Basin, about a mile east of the town of Alta, at about 5:21 p.m. Sunday.
People recreating in the area responded to the crash site, along with Alta town marshals and United Fire Authority crews.
