PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A Peoria gym is getting ready for some big upgrades.

U Fitness, located in Landmark Plaza, is expanding its facilities as Landmark Lanes prepares to close on Sept. 23.

Ishmael and Ceilia Hicks co-own U Fitness and The Underground Training Center, which are both in the plaza. Ishmael wanted to let people know that U Fitness and Landmark are completely separate entities, and new sports and fitness activities will take place in the bowling alley.

"Not only is U Fitness getting ready to thrive, we are getting ready to expand and upgrade," Ishmael said. "We really have fitness for everyone, and with the expansion that's going to take place, it's only going to broaden our scope."
