SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) - Some Sulphur residents received documents in the mail over the weekend about a possible CO2 pipeline being buried beneath their properties.

The notices residents received are asking for their feedback about a proposed pipeline that would be constructed by Low Carbon Logistics CCS Transport, LLC.

The 11.8-mile pipeline called “Lake Charles Lateral” would run 12-inch pipe connecting the Lake Charles Methanol CO2 Facility south of Sulphur to the Green Pipeline system between Sulphur and DeQuincy.

“The first time I heard about the project was when I opened my mailbox on Friday. I had a one-inch stack of papers that I needed to go through to figure out exactly what’s happening,” Sulphur resident Sheila Broussard said.
