CORVALLIS, Ore. – A juvenile male cougar was euthanized Monday afternoon outside of northwest Corvallis after posing a threat to human safety, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
BCSO officials said that the cougar had killed a goat and was found in residential backyards, showing no fear of humans. Deputies were dispatched to NW Camellia Drive, where the cougar was euthanized at around 3:37 p.m. on Sept. 1 Officials believe it may have been seen on cameras within Corvallis, but it was not the adult cougar frequently reported.
