A 27-page report will head to the Victoria council this week with several recommendations, including reducing parking supply, changing parking requirements for developers, and a new city-owned parkade.

City staff are recommending that the Victoria council move forward with several recommendations to change the City’s parking landscape, which could result in up to a 50 per cent reduction in parking supply in some areas.

The report, which is heading to council on Thursday, outlines that it is looking to reduce the parking supply requirements new developers face. Within 200 metres of the city’s Transit Priority Network — which stretches across most of the city — developers could see a 30 per cent parking supply reduction.
