LAS VEGAS — Great Falls native Tommy McMillen (8-0) overcame his toughest challenge to date on Dana White’s Contender Series, outlasting undefeated featherweight David Mgoyan for a majority decision (28-28, 29-28, 29-28) and a likely UFC contract.

McMillen, who trains under fellow Great Falls native Tim Welch at the Red Hawk Academy, had to dig deep. He absorbed several powerful shots from his opponent and withstood a very tight guillotine attempt to escape the round.

“That was tight,” McMillen admitted in a post fight interview. “You’re going to have to kill me to get me to quit in here. I’m never going to quit. I’ve been doing this my whole life."

One judge scored the fight a draw after giving Mgoyan a 10-8 in the first.
