TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A Tucson upholstery shop is under fire for allegedly taking customers’ money and abandoning projects.

The owner has been indicted by a grand jury, accused of felony theft.

13 News has been following the case and talking with customers who claim they were swindled out of thousands of dollars.

The business is called Chavez Since 67 , and it specializes in drapes and upholstery.

Some customers said work that was supposed to be done in weeks took months or wasn’t completed at all.

Fred Erickson showed 13 News Rebecca Taylor the outdated armchairs he wanted reupholstered.

“They’re real good quality furniture,” Erickson said.

He said he hired Eduardo “Eddie” Chavez of Chavez Since 67 to do the work.
