LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Excitement continues to grow as the Powerball climbs to ten figures.

As of Tuesday, the Powerball stands at $1.3 billion.

In Kentucky, many people are buying their tickets for a chance at a life-changing payday.

“Lexington is among the Kentucky cities. It is highly populated. There is a good chance we could see a winner from there,” said Mary Harville, president and CEO of the Kentucky Lottery.

Harville says that Lexington and Central Kentucky are influential in shaping lottery sales trends.

“Lexington is very critical to our mission. We definitely want all the Lexingtonians out there playing,” said Harville.

Already, the Kentucky Lottery says people have shown their interest in winning the big prize.
