A drunk father attacked his partner in front of an off-duty police officer whilst they were flying home from a family holiday, a court was told. ‌

Kevin Chapman, 36, had consumed vodka during an overnight flight from Crete, Greece, to Newcastle, when he became embroiled in a row with his girlfriend while his young daughter was present. ‌

Newcastle Magistrates' Court was told Chapman suddenly erupted and hit the victim across the face
