President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that U.S. Space Command will relocate from Colorado to Alabama, reversing a decision made under President Joe Biden to keep the headquarters in Colorado, the Associated Press reports .
Trump said the move to Huntsville — which he dubbed “Rocket City” — fulfills his original plan from his first term when the command was created.
Space Command oversees key military operations such as satellite navigation, communications, and missile launch detection. The headquarters location has long been a point of contention between Colorado and Alabama, with both states vying for the economic and political benefits.
Trump cited Colorado’s use of mail-in voting as a major factor in the decision, calling the practice a “big problem” and claiming, without eviden
