A Volusia County woman who believed she was helping a wounded military dog and a retired Army general was instead the victim of a scam that cost her nearly $60,000, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said 56-year-old Cory Woodall of Oxford, North Carolina, was extradited to Florida, where he now faces charges of organized scheme to defraud and grand theft. Latest Forecast
