FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Vice President JD Vance is heading to Minneapolis on Wednesday to pay his respects to victims of the Annunciation Catholic Church shooting.
Vance and his wife, second lady Usha Vance, also plan a series of private meetings “to convey condolences to the families of those affected by the tragedy,” the vice president’s office said in a statement.
A 12-year-old girl remains in critical condition after that shooting, which also killed two children.
Minnesota Democrats, meanwhile, are hoping to pass stricter gun laws inclulding potentially an assault weapons ban, in the fallout of the shooting.
