EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Wednesday is a brand new day in high school athletics, as a new emerging sport, girls flag football, will officially begin with the first regular season games.

The Castle Knights, Mater Dei Wildcats, and Memorial Tigers will each face off in games.

The teams held callouts, formed a roster, and have been practicing, and certainly doing a lot of learning about the new sport.

It’s taken time to get to this point, but an Indiana professional team has had a huge hand in helping kickstart their programs.
