UPDATE: Police announced the bomb squad completed its investigation and determined the suspicious package was not an explosive . The park and surrounding areas have been reopened.

OGDEN — Lorin Farr Park in Ogden was closed on Tuesday while police investigated a suspicious package in the park, the Ogden Police Department said.

The department announced the investigation at approximately 2:20 p.m.

“Out of an abundance of caution, the park has been temporarily closed while the Davis County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad responds to investigate,” Ogden PD said on Facebook .

The department asked the public to avoid the area while law enforcement made sure it was safe. Ogden PD said it would provide updates “as soon as it is safe to do so.”
