TAYLORSVILLE — Salt Lake Community College reported that a person was stabbed in the back on its Taylorsville Redwood Campus Wednesday evening. Police were still looking for suspects.

The school released a notification to students saying a 16-year-old male was on Community Boulevard on the west side of the campus, and he said he was followed by a white GMC truck with two men inside.

“They jumped out of the truck and stabbed him in the back,” the statement said.

The 16-year-old was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries and was later released, the Department of Public Safety said .

The school said there were “indications” that the stabbing was gang-related.
