RAVENNA, Ohio - An Austintown woman was sentenced to 60 days in jail and two years of probation on Tuesday after being found guilty of child endangerment and OVI charges
Deanne Hartman, 50, was sentenced in Portage County court following her no-contest plea last week. A judge had found her guilty of one felony count of endangering children and two misdemeanor counts of OVI.
The charges stem from an investigation that began in May 2023, after Hartman's daughter reported to school officials that her mother had physically assaulted her.
According to a report from the sheriff’s office, the girl told investigators that Hartman had pulled her hair and placed her hands around her neck. The report noted that the girl had bruises and scratches on her face and neck.
