How sad. We have a president found guilty of 34 counts of business fraud playing peacemaker with an accused international war criminal. Such hypocrisy on the world stage --with Ukraine in the balance.

But what did we expect from President Donald Trump, who effectively sent marauders to the U. S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and then, after many were convicted or pleaded guilty, pardoned them all, some 1,500.

Now, he pretends to bring peace to Washington, D.C., with U. S. troops and other police. He is Nazifying American streets.

We are a troubled nation, sinking to disaster. Mark Twain said best what we need most now: “Irreverence is the champion of liberty and its only sure defense.” But there seem no clear voices loud enough for us to hear the dangers.
