CHEBOYGAN – When you talk to Adam Bury , he’s as friendly as they come.

But when he’s coaching football – particularly on Friday nights – he’s in his own element.

“High energy, man,” Bury said.

As a defensive coordinator in the Cheboygan program for several years now, he’s always wanted his high intensity to rub off on his players on the field – and it usually works.

In Week 1 of the 2025 season, Cheboygan’s defenders made their coach more than proud by delivering an exceptional display in a 19-7 victory over the Sault High Blue Devils last Friday.

As Cheboygan wrapped up its postgame talk in the north end zone, there was a true expression of joy on the face of Bury, whose intense demeanor was gone for the night.
