The Lynchburg area features several music and entertainment options this weekend. The Oak Ridge Boys and a Luther Vandross tribute artist hit the Academy Center of Arts, the Amherst County Fair runs through the weekend and former Statler Brothers member Jimmy Fortune returns to Nelson County to help honor a bluegrass band and sign copies of his new book.

Oak Ridge Boys come to the Academy

The Oak Ridge Boys farewell tour rolls through Lynchburg this weekend. The band, known for hits such as “Elvira,” “Bobbie Sue” and “I’ll Be True To You,” will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Academy Center of the Arts Historic Theatre, 524 Main St., in Lynchburg.
