One of President Donald Trump's biographers said on Tuesday that people inside the West Wing know the president has "lost a step or two," as the administration seeks to bat down negative comments about the president's health.

Michael Wolff, who has written four books on Trump, discussed Trump's health and the way the administration has discussed it in the media on a new episode of The Daily Beast's podcast, "Inside Trump's Head." Wolff argued that Trump has not faced the same criticism for his health as his predecessor, Joe Biden, even though the signs of Trump's ill health continue to pile up.

"The unofficial position, and I've just collected a few comments. It's not a subject that anybody talks about," Wolff said. "That's one comment. Another comment, 'He's 79.' Yet another comment, 'He's lost a step or two, but he's still Trump.' 'He kind of wobbles.' 'He's very puffy.' 'He looks like he's wearing a bad Trump mask.'"

Even though the signs of Trump's ill health are mounting, Wolff warned that Trump will attempt to explain away his symptoms altogether.

"As sure as the sun rises, he's not going to tell the truth about this," Wolff said. "He's always dissembled about his personal medical condition, didn't he send people into his doctor's office to steal the records at some point?"
