A man has been arrested on and assaulting a police officer following an incident in . Officers were called to a report of disorder in a retail car park near Sainsbury's on Tuesday, September 2.

The incident allegedly involved the drivers of a silver Ford Focus and a white Seat Ibiza. The disorder started in the car park and led onto Ryhall Road at around 12.20pm.

The road was closed following the incident and reopened at around 5pm. A police cordon was set up whilst officers carried out enquiries.

One man was but his injuries are not thought to be serious. A second man was arrested on suspicion of assault, driving while impaired through drugs and assaulting a police officer.

The 37-year-old remains in police custody.
