Sun Valley will come alive with “The Sound of Music” on Thursday, Sept. 11, when the city will host a free sing-along screening of the beloved Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein classic in Champions Meadow, along Sun Valley Road.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the film starting at 6 p.m., inviting families and friends to gather for a night of song, laughter and cinematic nostalgia.

Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters from “The Sound of Music,” with prizes awarded for standout costumes. To add to the festivities, the first 200 guests to arrive will receive gift bags.

Organizers suggest bringing picnic dinners and low-back chairs or blankets to enjoy the screening comfortably, while leaving pets at home to ensure a relaxed environment for all.
