CLEVELAND (WJW) - The woman accused of killing an innocent child in a North Olmsted grocery store parking lot last year is due in court on Wednesday.

The attorneys for Bionca Ellis, Fernando Mack and Carlos Johnson, filed a motion in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court last week, asking the court to accept her plea of Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity.

A final pretrial in the case is set for Wednesday afternoon, and her trail is scheduled for October.

In February, Ellis was found competent for trial.

In June 2024, police said 3-year-old Julian Wood died when Ellis stabbed him as he was with his mother in an unprovoked attack. It happened in the parking lot of a Giant Eagle store. And, investigators found Ellis did not know the boy or
