Three people were taken to hospitals after a head-on crash on Route 6 in Wellfleet Tuesday evening, according to published reports .

The crash happened around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday on Route 6, near Shepley Wood Products, WCVB reported.

An 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman in one of the vehicles were both flown to Boston hospitals with serious injuries, Boston 25 News reported.

A passenger in the front-seat of the second car was taken to Cape Cod Hospital, according to WCVB. The severity of their injuries is unknown.

Wellfleet police could not immediately confirm the details of the crash.
