The crime itself was horrifying. The reaction was worse. Violence was not condemned; it was reframed as resistance. This did not happen in isolation. It reflects a culture where grievance, real or imagined, has become moral currency. If you can claim to be wronged, you can claim license. What once lived at the extremes has now seeped into everyday life.
