TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Tuscaloosa City School leaders gathered to celebrate an honor for one of its schools.

Northridge Middle School has earned recognition as a State and National School of Character, joining a growing list of area schools that have earned similar honors.

Leadership from the school and the school system’s central office celebrated the achievement.

Northridge Middle received two trophies and matching banners that were displayed with pride in front of teachers and other administrators.

The designation as a School of Character recognizes its commitment to fostering a positive school culture and developing string character among students.

The process took three years.
