WASHINGTON – The leader of Milwaukee's police union said he is weighing whether to ask the Trump administration to send National Guard troops to Milwaukee to help address crime, but his idea is receiving pushback from state and local officials.
Milwaukee Police Association President Alex Ayala told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Tuesday he is "considering" sending a letter to the White House requesting National Guard assistance following a series of street takeovers over Labor Day weekend that led to multiple arrests and more than two dozen citations.
