MADISON – Disabled Wisconsin residents who have been denied unemployment benefits because they receive federal disability payments will be eligible for back payment, after a ruling handed down by a federal judge.

Western District of Wisconsin Judge William Conley ruled that the Department of Workforce Development falsely denied unemployment claims for thousands of people between Sept. 7, 2015, and July 30, 2025, who were also receiving Social Security Disability Insurance payments.
