OLYMPIA, Wash. - The governors of Washington, Oregon and California announced today that the three states will form a West Coast Health Alliance, citing increasing concerns about the Center for Disease Control (CDC) under the Trump administration.

The West Coast Health Alliance will coordinate and align health and vaccine guidelines across the three states.

"While each state will independently pursue strategies shaped by their unique laws, geographies, histories, and peoples, these shared principles will form the foundations of the Alliance," the states said in a press release.

Last week, the CDC director Susan Monarez was fired less than a month after her confirmation to the position in the Senate.
